April 2nd is the 13th annual World Autism Awareness Day. It is a day to celebrate the unique talents of those with autism and to recognize the hurdles that they face. Today, people around the world are asked to “Light Up In Blue” by either wearing blue clothing or changing an outside light bulb to a blue one.
Yesterday, every parent received your son/daughter’s student account information. Please hold onto this information in case your child needs it in the future.
So far I have spoken with 13 students. I will continue to make phone calls throughout the next two days. Thank you for the sweet videos, pictures and texts messages that are being sent to me. I love them! Keep them coming!
Congratulations to those who have been learning on IXL.com. I received notification that 1000 questions have been answered correctly.
A colleague shared an article from Today’s Parent magazine with me. The quote “If your kids are alive and fed, you’re doing just fine” reminded me to state once again that each family is going through their own journey as we deal with this international crisis. Please don’t put pressure on yourself to figure everything out based upon what you’re seeing on social media, what I am suggesting, or what you are hearing on the news. The most essential thing is that your children remain healthy and happy.
Until tomorrow, take care,
